Uzbekistan - Bukhara Region Water Supply and Sewerage Project

Brief Description of the Project :

Investment in Water Supply Infrastructure:

The investment in Water Supply Infrastructure will cover the construction and rehabilitation of main water lines, well fields and intakes, associated electric facilities, water treatment plants, pumping stations, water reservoirs, distribution networks including house connections and equipment.

The water supply system project will be implemented in Kagan, Karaulbazar, Ramitan, Peshkun, Bukhara, Zhandar districts and Bukhara and Kagan of Bukhara region. Mainly the structures to be constructed are as follows:

Reconstruction works:

•         1 pumping station,

•         Shahrud junction,

•         28 water distribution units (WDU),

•         729.4 km of internal networks,

•         46 km of water pipelines,

Construction Works:

•         15 WDU,

•         961.9 km of internal networks,

•         509.7 km water pipelines,

•         procurement of equipment and decommissioning of obsolete components.

The following contract packages covering several lots of water supply system will be constructed within the scope of the services.

Construction and reconstruction: Water intake with a pumping station of the 1st rise, IbnSino-Shokhrud water conduit Ø 1000 mm - 14.5 km, Shakhrud junction (WTP and WDU), Shahrud-Zarafshan water pipeline Ø 700 mm, Ring water conduit and existing "Zarafshan-Bukhara" water conduit with a length of 1.5 km, Ø 700 mm, "Zarafshan No. 2" WDU

No: BWSP – W4-10 (Bukhara city and Bukhara region - 7 lots)

Construction and reconstruction: Water supply networks and circular water conduit of the city of Bukhara. Production operational base of “Bukhoro suv ta’minot” LLC;

6 –WDU, Supply water pipelines and water supply networks of Bukhara region;

Construction and reconstruction: 12-WDU, Main and supply water pipelines, water supply networks of the Jandar district

No: BWSP – W15-19 (Kagan city and Kagan district - 5 lots)

Construction and reconstruction: WDU "Kagan", water supply networks of the city of Kagan;

8 –WDU, Main and supply water pipelines, water supply networks of the Kagan region;

No: BWSP-W20 (Karaulbazar district - 1 lot)

Construction and reconstruction: 2-WDU, Main and supply water pipelines, water supply networks of the Karaulbazar region

No: BWSP – W21-25 (Peshku district - 5 lots)

Construction and reconstruction: 6-WDU, Main and supply water pipelines, water supply networks of the Peshku district

Construction and reconstruction: 7-WDU, Main and supply water pipelines, water supply networks of Ramitan region.

Investment in Sewerage Infrastructure

The investment in Sewerage Infrastructure will cover the construction of centralized sewage systems in district centers consisting of house connections, collectors, pumping stations and mechanical-biological sewage treatment plants as well as discharge facilities, optionally tertiary treatment for reuse purposes.

The sewerage supply system project will be implemented in regional centers of Gijduvan, Ramitan, Karakul, Alat and Karaulbazar districts of Bukhara region. Mainly the structures to be constructed are as follows:

Reconstruction Works:

•         1 pumping station (SPS),

Construction Works:

•         5 sewage treatment plants (STP),

•         66 SPS,

•         32.1 km of sewer collectors,

•         sewer networks 581.2 km,

•         974.2 km of house sewer connections,

•         purchase of equipment and withdrawal out of service obsolete components.

The following contract packages covering several lots of sewerage system will be constructed within the scope of the services.

Construction of house connections, sewer networks and pressure pipelines, 14 SPS, 1 STP in the district center of Gijduvan.

No: BWSP–S4-6 (Alat district center - 3 lots)

Construction of house connections, sewer networks and pressure pipelines, 18 SPS, 1 STP in the district center of Alat.

No: BWSP–S7-9 (Karakul district center - 3 lots)

Construction of house connections, sewer networks and pressure pipelines, 14 SPS, 1 STP in the district center of Karakul.

No: BWSP–S10-11 (Ramitan district center - 2 lots)

Construction of house connections, sewer networks and pressure pipelines, 14 SPS, 1 STP in the district center of Ramitan.

No: BWSP–S12 (Karaulbazar district center - 1 lots)

Construction of house connections, sewer networks and pressure pipelines, 6 SPS, 1 STP in the district center of Karaulbazar.
