Düzce Drinking Water Structures Detail Design

Brief Description of the Project :

The project area comprises Düzce provincial capital, Cumayeri, Kaynaşlı, Çilimli, Gölkaya and Gümüşova sub-provinces, Beyköy, Boğaziçi and Konuralp sub-divisions and all villages reporting to these sub-provinces and sub-divisions in the Black Sea Region of Turkey.

Water supply to Düzce province from another source is required in the absence of any storage facility in existing water supply system for drinking / municipal water supplied from the Uğursuyu Stream and because of inadequate amount of the Uğursuyu Stream water to meet the water requirement of Düzce provincial capital in the summer.

Detail drawings for all structures necessary for transmitting the water from Hasanlar Dam, at about 15 km distance to Düzce city center and constructed under “Düzce Efteni Project” to meet drinking / municipal water requirement of Düzce provincial capital in the long term, and from the Uğursuyu Stream in an integrated approach, to drinking water treatment plant to be constructed and transmitting the treated water to existing reservoirs and/or reservoirs to be constructed, further to detail drawings for rehabilitation of existing water supply system will be prepared.

The services to be provided under the project include the following;

• The long-term population and water requirement projections for settlements in the project area,
• Determining the structures required for drinking water supply, defining the design criteria, performing the calculations and preparing the detail drawings (including hydraulical, mechanical, electrical, architectural, statical-reinforced concrete, SCADA – Automation and, if necessary, transmission lines cathodic protection calculations and drawings),
• Design of connection lines between reservoirs and network, if required,
• Design of Energy Transmission Lines for locations where power supply is required,
• Preparation of bill of quantities, cost estimate, green file, payment percentages and special technical specification as basis to tender for civil works,
• Estimation of unit water costs,
• Carrying out all necessary field studies, including mapping and geological studies,
• Preparation of land acquisition plans,
• Performing the Geographical Information System (GIS) studies,
• Preparation of O/M manuals detailing the operational principles for drinking water supply system,
• Preparation of the “Feasibility Report”, comprising all components of the project, in a format required by the Ministry of Development for all investment projects,
• Detail design for the regulator as a part of rehabilitation of existing water supply system,
• Design for rehabilitation of existing treatment plant.
