Hatay Büyük Karaçay Dam Irrigation Revision, Samandağ Irrigation Renewal, Yayladağı Irrigation Rehabilitation Planning Report Preparation

Brief Description of the Project:

Regarding the Büyük Karaçay Dam that is constructed to solve the drinking water and irrigation water problem of Antakya, Defne and Samandağ districts in Hatay Province, Samandağ and Yayladağı Region and to generate electricity following services are provided:

• Revision of the irrigation area of the Büyük Karaçay Dam as 3.750 ha according to current conditions, which was planned as 3554 ha ,
• Preparation of Planning Report and annexes for the renewal of Hatay Samandağ Pumped Irrigation with an irrigation area of ​​2167 hectares and establishment of a closed system irrigation network for a total area of ​​4294 hectares (3750 hectares + 544 hectares) with the irrigation of 544 hectares by gravity from the Büyük Karaçay Dam. In addition, the Samandağ Additional Area Pumped Irrigation Planning Report, and its annexes were prepared for the establishment of a closed system irrigation network for the 653 ha new area on the left bank of the Asi River with pumping (43 m) from the Asi River, which was studied within the scope of the Büyük Karaçay Dam Irrigation Revision Planning Report ,
• Planning studies regarding the conversion of the 719 ha irrigation area of ​​the Yayladağı Dam, which is currently operating and serves with an open channel, into a closed pipe network system within the scope of rehabilitation works and the provision of irrigation water to 738 ha (719 ha current + 19 ha additional) agricultural land with modern techniques.
• In addition, the drinking water requirement of the Yayladağı Dam was determined according to the 2060 "Population Projections" and studies regarding the increase in drinking water benefit were also given in the report regarding the alternative of raising the dam and the provision of an additional 2.31 hm³/year to drinking water .
