GÖLSU Manisa Province Projects Planning Engineering Services, Part 2

Brief Description of the Project:

The project area comprises the lands in Alaşehir, Demirci, Kula, Kırkağaç, Soma sub-provinces and county seat within Manisa Province in the Aegean Region of Turkey.

The following small dams and irrigations are included in the scope of project;

Manisa Alasehir Toygarlı Small Dam & Irrigation: Zoned earthfill - type small dam, 39.00 m high from foundation, will supply irrigation water to gross 129 ha arable land.

Manisa Alasehir Gulpinar Small Dam & Irrigation: Zoned earthfill - type small dam, 25.00 m high from foundation, will supply irrigation water to gross 100 ha arable land.

Manisa Alasehir Sahyar Small Dam & Irrigation: Rockfill – type small dam, 45.00 m high from foundation, will supply irrigation water to gross 267 ha arable land.

Manisa Alasehir Horzumalayaka Small Dam & Irrigation: Rockfill – type small dam, 35,00 m high from foundation, will supply irrigation water to gross 181 ha arable land.

Manisa Demirci Alaagac Small Dam & Irrigation: Clay core rockfill – type small dam, 40.50 m high from foundation, will supply irrigation water to gross 394 ha arable land.

Manisa Kula Emre Small Dam & Irrigation: Semi-pervious fill-type small dam, 30.50 m high from foundation, will supply irrigation water to gross 105 ha arable land.

Manisa Kula Konurca Small Dam & Irrigation: Clay core rockfill – type small dam, 37.00 m high from foundation, will supply irrigation water to gross 82 ha arable land.

Manisa Kirkagac Cobanlar Small Dam & Irrigation: Semi-pervious fill-type small dam, 40,00 m high from foundation, will supply irrigation water to gross 494 ha arable land.

Manisa County Seat Belenyenice Small Dam & Irrigation: Semi-pervious fill-type small dam, 37,00 m high from foundation, will supply irrigation water to gross 117 ha arable land.

Usak Esme Ahmetler Small Dam and Irrigation Increase Revised Planning Technical Report: Zoned earth fill - type small dam, 23,65 m high from foundation, will supply irrigation water to gross 72+38=111 ha arable land.

Planning report will be prepared individually for small dams for which Preliminary Study Reports are available. Planning studies will be performed in two phases.

1. Preliminary Study Reports

Studies are performed to define the types and capacities of contractual structures and determine the technically and economically optimum project formulation and “Preliminary Report” is submitted to DSİ. The submitted project formulation is deemed necessary by DSİ and detailed planning works has started. 1/500-scale mapping on small dam axial sites and 1/1000-scale mapping in reservoir areas are performed. The “Engineering Hydrology Planning Report”, “Agricultural Economy and Land Acquisition Planning Report” and “Engineering Geology and Natural Construction Materials Planning Report” and “Land Classification and Drainage Planning Report” are prepared.

2. Planning Report

“Preliminary Study Reports”, including the proposed project formulations, will be reviewed by DSİ, and the Formulation to be selected by DSİ will be taken as basis to the subsequent planning studies. “Planning Land Classification and Drainage Report” and “Agricultural Economy and Land Acquisition Planning Report”, as appendices to Planning Reports, will be prepared. Investigations in natural construction material areas, laboratory tests and engineering geology studies, including foundation borehole drillings, will be carried out, and the “Engineering Geology and Natural Construction Materials Planning Report” will be prepared. The EIA studies will be performed, “Project Introductory File” will be prepared, and “EIA Is Not Required” certificates will be obtained.

All works conducted for each small dam is transferred to GIS and delivered to Administration.

Small Dam Design Services

Final drawings for small dams, of which Planning Reports are approved by the Client, will be prepared in accordance with “Technical Specification for Dam Design”. Small Dam Design will include the following processes.

Preliminary Report

Preliminary report will be prepared after the Client’s comment on any revision to the basic formulation proposed in Planning Report is received.

Interim Report

Interim Report will be prepared to include the preliminary calculations and project formulation.

Design

Following approval of the interim report by the Client, design studies comprising all hydraulic, stability, static-reinforced concrete and steel structural design calculations and drawings, as per the Technical Specification for Dam Design, will be commenced. Detail drawings will show types and locations of instruments to be installed in small dam embankment on the basis of stability, stress, displacement, seepage and dynamic analyses. All works conducted for each small dam is transferred to GIS and delivered to Administration.
