Uşak Province Eşme Sub-province Lagoons & Irrigations Planning Engineering Services

Brief Description of the Project:

The project areas comprise partly the arable lands in Eşme sub-province of Uşak province in the Aegean Region of our country.

Facilities under the Project are as follows:

Uşak Eşme Karacaömerli Lagoon and Irrigation: Total net 86.14 ha arable land will be irrigated by the zoned earthfill-type lagoon of 24.00 m height from foundation.

Uşak Eşme Karabacaklı Lagoon and Irrigation: Total net 207 ha arable land will be irrigated by the zoned earthfill type lagoon of 24.00 m height from foundation.

Uşak Eşme Dervişli Lagoon and Irrigation: Total net 90 ha arable land will be irrigated by the zoned earthfill-type lagoon of 32.50 m height from foundation.

Uşak Eşme Kocabey Dam and Irrigation: Total net 1100 ha arable land will be irrigated by the Concrete Face Rockfill type dam of 57.50 m height from foundation.

Uşak Eşme Konak Dam and Irrigation: Total net 800 ha arable land will be irrigated by the Clay Core Rockfill type dam of 47.50 m height from foundation.

Planning report individually for each lagoon project and preliminary-study report for dam projects were prepared. Planning studies were carried out in two phases.

1. Interim Report / Preliminary Study Report

As a part of studies to determine types and capacities of contractual structures further to determining the technically and economically optimum project formulation, the “Engineering Hydrology Report”, “Engineering Geology and Natural Construction Materials Report” and the “Land Classification and Drainage Report” at planning level were prepared in this phase, and lagoon axis and dam reservoir area mapping services were provided.

2. Planning Report

“The Büyük Menderes Basin Uşak Province Eşme sub-province Lagoons & Irrigations Planning Report” and appendices thereto were prepared on the basis of formulation agreed by DSI as a result of review of intermediate report on lagoons, and after the EIA studies were completed. The “EIA Is Not Required” Documents for lagoons were obtained.
