Upgrading the Infrastructure and Operation of İzmir Railway System

Brief Description of the Project :

For the Municipality’s intra-city rail mass transit operations on TCDD lines in total 80 km length between Basmane - Çiğli - Menemen - Aliağa, Alsancak – Cumaovası and Şirinyer - Buca stations, the following studies have been carried out by the Consultant:

• Transit surveys,
• Feasibility studies,
• Operation and maintenance planning,
• Legislative structuring report writing,
• Architectural, structural, landscaping, mechanical, electrical, grounding, fire fighting and signalization systems’ conceptual, preliminary and final design for stations Çiğli, Şemikler, Nergiz, Karşıyaka, Alaybey, Naldöken, Bayraklı, Salhane, Halkapınar, Şirinyer, Koşu, İnkilap, Esbaş, Sarnıç, Egekent, Demirköprü, Semt Garajı and Kemer,
• Conceptual, preliminary and final design for junctions in Çiğli, Şemikler, Bayraklı, Salhane, Şirinyer, Sarnıç, Egekent, Semt Garajı, Gaziemir and Kemer,
• Design for tunnels in Karşıyaka and Şirinyer,
• Design for landscapes and interchanges at and around the stations Salhane, Şemikler, Çiğli, Egekent, Kemer, Koşu, Inkilap, Karabağlar and Semt Garajı,
• Design for pedestrian overpasses / underpasses,
• Architectural, structural, outdoor lighting, mechanical and electrical final design for Cumaovası, Çiğli and Triyaj storage yards,
• Preparation of technical specifications for the vehicles and fee collection systems
• Tender documentation in English and Turkish, for civil works and procurement of vehicles.
