Balıkesir Balya Lagoons Planning Engineering Services (ru)

Brief Description of the Project:

Project area covers partly the lands of Balya sub-province of Balıkesir province in the Marmara Region.

The project comprises the following structures;

Balıkesir Balya-Değirmendere Lagoon and Irrigation: The lagoon of clay-core rockfill type, 29,20m high from foundation, will supply irrigation water to gross 104 ha arable land.

Balıkesir Balya-Orhanlar Lagoon and Irrigation: The lagoon of clay-core rockfill type, 22,50m high from foundation, will supply irrigation water to gross 88 ha arable land.

Balıkesir Balya-Kayapınar Lagoon and Irrigation: The lagoon of clay-core rockfill type, 25,75m high from foundation, will supply irrigation water to gross 104 ha arable land.

Balıkesir Balya-Dörtyol Lagoon and Irrigation: The lagoon of clay-core rockfill type, 27,00m high from foundation, will supply irrigation water to gross 171 ha arable land.

Balıkesir Balya-Narlı Lagoon and Irrigation: The lagoon of clay-core rockfill type, 22,00m high from foundation, will supply irrigation water to gross 72 ha arable land.

Balıkesir Balya-Gökmusa Lagoon and Irrigation: The lagoon of clay-core rockfill type, 27,00m high from foundation, will supply irrigation water to gross 59 ha arable land.

Balıkesir Balya-Dereköy Lagoon and Irrigation: The lagoon of clay-core rockfill type, 28,00m high from foundation, will supply irrigation water to gross 171 ha arable land.

Planning report will be prepared individually for lagoons for which Preliminary Study Reports are available. Planning studies will be performed in two stages.

1. Interim Reports

Studies for determining types and capacities of contractual structures and defining the project formulation will be performed at this stage and the “Planning Interim Report”, detailing results of the studies, will be presented to DSI. If the proposed project formulation is agreed by DSI, detailed planning services will be proceeded with, Hydrology Planning Reports and Agricultural Economy Interim Reports for the lagoons will have been approved at Interim Report stage.

1/1000 scale and 1/2000 scale digital base maps, respectively for axis site of storage facilities and for reservoir/irrigation areas to be surveyed at planning stage, will be prepared. Investigations on natural construction material areas and engineering geology and foundation borehole drilling works will be carried out.

2. Planning Report

“Interim Reports” will be reviewed by DSI, and subsequent planning studies on the basis of project formulation selected by DSI among the proposed project formulations will be commenced. Lagoon sites and irrigation areas will be studied at planning level in view of land classification and drainage as basis to Planning Report to be prepared for each lagoon. “Engineering Hydrology Report”, “Agricultural Economy and Land Acquisition Report” and “Land Classification and Drainage Report” at planning level will be prepared and appended to each planning report. Results of borehole drillings on engineering structure sites and of all investigations, in-situ and laboratory tests on samples taken from natural construction material areas will be evaluated, compiled in “Planning Stage Engineering Geology Study Report” and “Planning Stage Natural Construction Materials”, and submitted to the Client.

The EIA study will not be performed since the process, in terms of EIA legislation, for quarries to be used under the project will be undertaken by the awarded construction contractor.
