Ukraine, Urengoy-Pomary-Uzhgood Main Natural Gas Pipeline

Brief Description of the Project :

Within the scope of Procurement and Project Management Consultant Services – Project “Reconstruction, capital repairs and technical re-equipping of the main Pipeline Urengoy-Pomary-Uzhgood” funded by World Bank, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, European Investment Bank and European Union, it is agreed to provide “Procurement and Project Management Services” for urgent reconstruction required to be carried out for 1.139 km section – within Ukraine - of approximately 4.500 km long natural gas pipeline (UPU Pipeline) of which construction had been completed in 1989 and had been taken into operation and which connects Urengoy District of Russia and Uzgorod District of Ukraine.

Within the scope of the Project, total 119 km out of 1139 km of natural gas pipeline including valves and other instruments, with the diameter of 56” shall be reconstructed/renewed in 4 separate sections and 2 turbo compressors in Romny compressor station, located on the line, shall be replaced.

Scope of Services:

• Review of previously prepared designs and preparing Design Assessment Report,
• Preparing Construction Tender Documents (in accordance with FIDIC MDB) and Material Procurement Tender Documents (Pipe, Fitting, Valves) within the framework of EBRD Procurement notices,
• Providing technical and administrative assistance to Client during tenders,
• Performing Environmental and Social Impact Assessment processes in accordance with EBRD Performance Requirements and EIB’s Environmental Standards,
• Project Management,
• Financial Supervision,
• Supporting the Client for Dispute Resolution,
• Supporting the Client about legal issues,
• Training of the Client’s personnel.
