Terkos Water Treatment Plant

Brief Description of the Project :

Project components are as follows:

• Water Intake Structure,
• Raw Water Pump Station (TM1),
• Pumpline between TM1 and PWTP (Ø1800, L=1,2 km),
• Potable Water Treatment Plant (PWTP),
• Treated Water Tank (30.000 m³),
• Treated Water Pump Station (TM2) 

Raw water taken from Terkos Lake will be treated in 2 staged plant. Total maximum capacity of plant is 240.000 m³/day. Process selected for Potable Water Treatment Plant is conventional treatment based on physical + chemical treatment and includes: aeration + pre-ozonizing + clarifier + filtration + final ozonizing + pre-interim-final chlorination + activated carbon process.

In plant granular active carbon dosing at the pre- ozonizing exit or granular active carbon application after filtering and interim ozonizing before all have also been planned. All units except clarifier tanks, rapid sand filters and granule active carbon unit are common units for stage 1 and stage 2 and have been designed according to capacity of Potable Water Treatment Plant. The clarifiers are designed in the type of sludge blanket, the filters are designed as rapid filter with deep bed. Volume of treated water tank is 30.000 m³. The size of water intake structure has been designed as 2,1x2,1 m double sectioned channel and pumping station including coarse screens has been designed as according to maximum flow of 240.000 m³/day. Pump line has been designed as DN1800 Steel Pipe.

The structures in the project have been designed with "Building Information Modelling". BIM has ensured to the Client for reviewing all structures in 3D format.
