Oman - Bidbid-Sur Road Tunnel Design Services

Brief Description of the Project :

Work under the contract, within the scope of Sultanate of Oman, Bidbid-Sur Road Construction work, is to design necessary studies for construction of tunnels between the specified chainages including below;

Geotechnical and structural design (including portals, slopes, cut and cover areas, supporting systems etc.), electromechanical design and utilities (including tunnel ventilation, fire, lighting, traffic control systems etc.) asphalt works, finishing works of Tunnel No 1 (twin tube) between KM: 24+500 and KM: 25+100 and Tunnel No 2 (twin tube) between KM:31+970 and KM: 33+400, which are planned to be constructed, to determine most appropriate route and to design required manufacturing for connection of these tunnels to current road route connection in accordance with specifications and instructions of Client/Employer according to standards stipulated by the Client; and to perform design of works (including analysis, coordination, etc.) as the basis for implementation and to get these works approved by the Client and the Employer.

Tunnel lengths are given below.

Tunnel-1:

Right tube: 620 m, 3-lane

Left Tube: 550 m, 3-lane

Tunnel-2:

Right Tube: 1524 m, 3-lane

Left Tube: 1477 m, 3-lane

Scope of Services :

Alignment revisions due to tunnel alternatives and geotechnical, structural works including portals, slopes, cut and cover areas, cut and cover structures, tunnel and portal supporting systems, drainage of tunnel and portal structures, tunnel electromechanical works (including tunnel ventilation, firefighting systems, lighting, traffic control systems etc.) and control center detail designs are prepared.
