Brief Description of the Project :

The project essentially aims to provide a system, which will supply and transmit water from Beyazsu creek, to satisfy the demand of Mardin City and Kızıltepe, Nusaybin, Derik, Yeşilli, Kabala, Akarsu, Şenyurt and Ortaköy settlements, in the target year 2040. Population projected and water demand estimated for the project area in the target year 2040 is 613.000 and 46,500,000 m3/year respectively.

The final design included the following facilities:

  • Beyazsu springs water intake structure
  • Chlorination building
  • Beyazsu transmission line (Ø200-Ø1200 diameter, total length=88.3 km)
  • Various structures on the transmission line
  • Pumping Stations

Mardin Pumping Stations

P1 Q = 470 l/s,     Hm = 82 m,     total 5 units
P2  Q = 360 l/s      Hm = 50 m,     total 3 units
P3  Q = 300 l/s      Hm = 93 m,     total 3 units
P4  Q = 290 l/s      Hm = 185 m,   total 4 units
P5  Q = 280 l/s      Hm = 150 m,   total 3 units

Akarsu Pumping Stations

P1 Q = 30 l/s,       Hm = 140 m,   total 2 units
P2 Q = 30 l/s,       Hm = 145 m,   total 2 units

Derik Pumping Stations

P1 Q = 95 l/s,       Hm = 170 m,   total 3 units
P2 Q = 95 l/s,       Hm = 150 m,   total 3 units

Reservoirs

7 in number, capacities ranging from 500 m3 to 20 000 m3.
