Brief Description of the Project:

Planning studies were carried out for the following structures, which were planned to supply irrigation water to the farm lands on Küçükmenderes Plain within boundaries of Bayındır Sub-province of Izmir Province.

  • Uladı Dam and associated structures; the Clay-Core Sand/Gravel Fill type dam in 86,50 m height from foundation on the Uladı Creek,
  • Bayındır Plain irrigation network (gross 2680 ha supplied from the dam and gross 1981 ha supplied from groundwater).

Planning studies were carried out in two phases.

1. Interim Report

The first phase comprised the studies for selecting the types and capacities of project structures under the Contract and defining the project formulation. This phase of studies also included preparation of the “Engineering Hydrology Report”, “Agricultural Economy Planning Report” and “Engineering Geology and Natural Construction Materials Planning Report”.

2. Planning Report

The second phase comprised dimensioning the structures, preparation of BoQs and cost estimates and economic analyses as basis to project efficiency, all based on optimization studies as per the final project formulation. This phase of studies further comprised preparation of “Land Acquisition Planning Report” and “EIA (Environmental Impact Assessment) Report”, for  which “EIA Is Acceptable” certificate was issued by the Ministry.
