"Ankara Province Drinking Water, Wastewater and Stormwater Management Master Plan" contract was signed. 07 April 2020

The contract for "Ankara Province Drinking Water, Wastewater and Stormwater Management Master Plan" is signed between Ankara Water and Sewerage Administration General Directorate (ASKİ) and TEMELSU - SU-YAPI Joint Venture on 7 April 2020.

The project aims to meet the current and future water needs of the population of Ankara in the next 30 years and to improve and develop existing drinking water, wastewater, stormwater flood protection and prevention systems and update existing plans and reports to ensure the sustainable development of Ankara.

Master Plan works consist of 5 parts;

Part 1- Water Demand and Management of Water Resources

Part 2 - Water, Wastewater, Stormwater Infrastructure

Part 3 - Drinking Water and Wastewater Treatment

Part 4 – Organizational Structure

Part 5 - Financial Analysis and Investment Programs

The plan, which includes water resources, water use and disposal of occurring wastewater, will reveal the water needs of all major sectors. The designs selected as a result of the analysis of the most technically, economically and environmentally appropriate options in the plan will be included in the investment program. Moreover, alternative plans for the future will be developed by re-evaluating the facilities in the plan that will include investment plans and financial analysis and financing.


Data collection and analysis; determination of population water need, wastewater flow and pollution loads; planning of water treatment facilities of water resources and their protected areas, water distribution system; investigation of water quality, water losses; planning of wastewater collection facilities, wastewater treatment plants; sludge management, odour control, design of water recovery; planning of stormwater collection and stream systems, flood facilities and management; basic environmental impacts, the impacts of climate change on precipitation, snow melting and water resources, geographic information systems, energy management, business model, earthquake, user services, special reports, investment and financing, organizational structure works constitutes the general scope of the work.
